Do what you love to do and sigh up for the two most advanced training programs available in the USA (AFF) Accelerated Freefall Skydiving and Tandem jumping. * applies to licensed skydivers.
Here's a brief outline of the program:
Level 16 hour ground school to provide you with a basic orientation, aircraft procedures, freefall body position, canopy control, landing practice, parachute deployment, and some other fundamental details. Two assigned AFF certified Jump masters will remain with you for the freefall portion of your skydive.
Level 2Body flight skills, exiting the aircraft with 2 jump masters.
Level 3Continue to exit the aircraft with 2 jump masters to enhance your basic skills. This step is continued until your skydiving skills progress, then you are released. Rest assured the jump masters will be by your side at all times. Experience the rush of acceleration on your first solo freefall.
Level 4 & 5As you improve and continue on to fulfilling your dream as a licensed skydiver, the next step is learning "Heading Control" with one jumpmaster. This involves 90 degree turns and forward movement. Level 5 continues the same instruction, but with a more controlled 360 degree forward movement with one jump master as well.
Level 6This is your fist solo exit with one jump master close by your side. Now you're ready to learn more advanced maneuvers with your dive out, in your delta tracking (gliding across the sky), freefall flips and you will learn recover from pre planned unstable body positions.
Level 7You are almost done! Now is your time to shine and demonstrate your newly acquired skydiving skills. Finally, the jump master will remain with you in freefall while you make a SOLO DIVING exit. Choose to video tape this memorable moment.
If your still unsure about a solo skydive we have an alternative solution for you. Our goal is to make this a comfortable learning experience for you. The alternative to the seven level AFF training is the Tandem Progression.
Level 1This level is designed to introduce you to the Arch body position, freefall turns, altitude awareness, deploying the main parachute, and canopy control. the advantage to this progression method is that you have an instructor there with you for the entire freefall and parachute ride. During the canopy (parachute) portion of your skydive, the instructor will provide you with a practical understanding of canopy procedures as you perform the maneuvers.
Level 2Here you can control more pronounced freefall turns and greater freefall stability. You will b e required to wave off and deploy your main parachute at 5,000 ft. Almost like you are on a solo dive, you will have the opportunity to fully assist in the landing.
Level 3At this level, you will receive an introduction to advanced heading maintenance, controlled 360 degree freefall turns, forward movement while in freefall, and canopy development. Now you are ready to enter the AFF program at level 4 following the AFF 6 hour ground school.Becoming an experienced skydiver is a big decision.
